National Council Application
Our Fraternity needs and is looking for thoughtful leaders who embrace the Fraternity’s Creed, Mission and Strategic Plan.
The Phi Kappa Tau Constitution mandates that every two years, the Fraternity assemble in National Convention, comprised of alumni and undergraduate delegates, to elect brothers to the National Council. The National Council serves as Phi Kappa Tau’s legislative body when Convention is not in session, comparable to a “Board of Directors”.
The following positions will be voted on at this summer’s 66th National Convention in Orlando, FL from July 23-26, 2025:
National Vice President – a two-year term of service; and, if the Vice President receives a vote of confidence by the National Council, the Vice President would serve a succeeding two-year term as National President.
(2) Members of the National Council – a six-year term of service on the National Council
National Councilors are elected to direct the general affairs of the Fraternity. They discuss and anticipate where the Fraternity needs to be in the future by setting strategic direction while evaluating its progress in fulfilling our strategic plan. They monitor the organization’s finances, as part of each member’s role as a fiduciary. And they address a wide range of issues that necessitate action by the National Council.
Specifically, we need leaders who are ready to serve their brothers through:
Offering enthusiasm and the ability to be a strategic, visionary thinker
Making a commitment to Phi Kappa Tau to “give back” to the Fraternity which has given so much
Making time to serve
Working with other brothers in a spirit of teamwork
Exhibiting sound judgment and integrity
The National Council is made up of six (6) National Councilors, a National Vice President and a National President. The Phi Kappa Tau Graduate Nominations Committee is accepting self-nominations only, for any brother who is interested in applying for service as a member of the National Council.
