UNDERGRADUATE ADVISORY BOARD Application

The Fraternity is seeking chapter leaders to join the Undergraduate Advisory Board (UAB).

Serving as a bridge between the National Council, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and the undergraduate members of Phi Kappa Tau, the UAB’s primary function is to advise on strategic decisions while advocating for undergraduate brothers. Additionally, it engages with the Fraternity committee structure and collaborates directly with the National Council and CEO.


eLIGIBILITY

1. In order to be appointed to the UAB, a person must be an initiated brother of Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and must be in good standing with his chapter and the national fraternity. 

2.    Each Undergraduate Advisory Board member shall serve a full two-year term, unless such member becomes ineligible to serve due to graduation, transition from undergraduate to alumni status, illness, incapacity, or other reason. 

3.   No person may serve on the UAB after graduation from his college or university or after transition from undergraduate to alumni status with respect to his college or university.  

3.   Each UAB member must remain in good standing with his chapter and the National Fraternity during the entirety of his term on the UAB in order to maintain eligibility to serve. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Voice of the Undergraduates 

  • Actively seek input from the undergraduate membership to bring forward their concerns, ideas, and feedback. 

  • Advocate to the National Council and/or CEO for policies and initiatives that enhance the overall undergraduate experience. 

 Advise on Strategic Decisions 

  • Provide insights and recommendations on how strategic decisions made at the national level will impact the overall undergraduate experience. 

  • Participate in strategic planning sessions to align the organization's goals with the needs and aspirations of undergraduate members. 

  • Contribute to the execution of the mission and vision for Phi Kappa Tau that reflects the values and expectations of current undergraduates. 

 Committee Engagement 

  • Serve on committees dedicated to various aspects of Phi Kappa Tau operations, programs, and initiatives. 

  • Offer the unique perspective of undergraduates to inform the decision-making processes within these committees to ensure a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by undergraduates. 

 Operational Collaboration 

  • Work directly with the CEO of Phi Kappa Tau to discuss and address operational matters affecting undergraduate chapters. 

  • Provide recommendations for improvements and share best practices that contribute to the overall success of the organization. 

  • Serve as a conduit for communication between the National Council and the undergraduate membership. 


Applications close on March 31, 2025.


Once the deadline for submission of applications has passed, the Undergraduate Advisory Board and the CEO will then review applications, interview candidates, and recommend a slate of candidates for appointment.

Newly appointed UAB members are highly encouraged, but not required, to attend the 66th National Convention in Orlando from July 23-26, 2025.
